Do you know what “pagpag” is?
In the Philippines, it is considered a delicious meal for the poor.
Yet in reality, it is nothing more than fried chicken leftovers—discarded by the rich, collected from garbage bins, washed, and recooked for those who cannot afford a fresh meal.

This reality shocked me deeply.
It also made me reflect: How often do we take our food, our security, and our privileges for granted? “Pagpag” is not just a meal; it is a symbol of inequality, a mirror reflecting the harsh divide between those who have too much and those who have too little.

We live in a world of abundance, yet many are forced to survive on what others throw away. To cherish what we have is not merely to feel grateful—it is to recognize our responsibility, to refuse indifference, and to remember that dignity should never be a luxury.
